Trump Tweets Stats From Well Known Hate Group Like A Klansman That Lost His Hood

Donald Trump is on his way to what has to be his least favorite state today. Before setting out for the Golden State to look over border wall prototypes and attend an afternoon fundraiser in Beverly Hills Trump turned to his favorite vice to spew hatred for the California’s sanctuary status.

In addition to expressing his frustration for California’s immigration policies Trump retweeted a Fox News story which focuses on a study that found that Trump’s wall, which is set to be built along the border between the United States and Mexico, will “pay for itself” by cutting the amount of illegal aliens receiving welfare.

The thing that makes this important is that Trump quoted the story, shared by Fox News, citing the Center for Immigration Studies, a known hate group. Someone forgot to give Trump that memo.

In 2014 the Daily Beast published a piece on the Center For Immigration Studies, in which it referred to the organization as a “false-fact think tank.”

The Southern Poverty Law Center, a non profit organization that tracks extremists and hate groups within the U.S. has been keeping tabs on CIS for years, classifying them as a hate group since 2007.

SPLC, cites CIS as:

‘The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) has gone on to become the go-to think tank for the anti-immigrant movement with its reports and staffers often cited by media and anti0immigrant politicians. CIS’s much-touted tagline is “low immigration, pro-immigrant,” but the organization has a decades-long history of circulating racist writers, while also associating with white nationalists.’

Below are some of the top reactions from Twitter users to the president’s pre-California trip tweets:

Trump’s anger with California’s immigration policy and immigration laws is no surprise considering he lost California to his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton. Ironically, a spokesman for United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement has resigned his position explaining that spewing lies for the Trump administration was something he could no longer “bear the burden of.”

James Schwab, the spokesperson who resigned his position, said that he was motivated to quit after being told to fudge the truth.

‘I asked them to change the information. I told them the information was wrong, they asked me to deflect, and I didn’t agree with that. Then I took some time and I quit.’

‘I just couldn’t bear the burden — continuing on as a representative of the agency and charged with upholding integrity, knowing that information was false.’
